Napster History

Most recently Jordan worked as CTO of Zivity, San Francisco, helping to build a major platform for artists to promote and monetize their photographic works.

At Cloudmark, Jordan literally led the fight as CTO against the various email-borne scourges that
plague the Internet today.

Most notably, at Napster, Jordan developed the technology alongside Shawn Fanning that would revolutionize the way we think of music distribution today before the company was funded in August of 1999. There he served as Chief Server Architect and was responsible for the server backend software and infrastructure, helping to drive the technology to
support 50 million users worldwide in less than a year.

Before Zivity, Jordan was appointed CTO of Columbia Music Entertainment, Tokyo, Japan, heading the R&D division to revamp organization wide process and infrastructure while building their next major digital music distribution system.

Jordan Ritter
Founder and Chief Technology Officer
Cloudmark, Wall Street Journal

An entrepreneur at heart, Jordan Ritter's expertise within a diverse range of disciplines and architectures has helped create some of the Internet's most popular software. Before his success at Cloudmark, Jordan worked as VP of Technology at Round1, a financial services startup, where he focused primarily on data aggregation and analysis initiatives.

Previously Jordan co-founded Napster, Inc., developing their ground-breaking P2P technologies alongside Shawn Fanning before the company was funded in August 1999. As Chief Server Architect, he led the development and management of the server back-end software and infrastructure to support 50 million users worldwide in less than a year. Prior to Napster, Jordan worked for computer security startup Netect as a Network Security Engineer, engaged in vulnerability research and software development. Netect subsequently sold for $35 million to Bindview Development Corporation, where he stayed on as Senior Security Analyst and continued his research and development work, and subsequently published findings on a key global Internet security vulnerability.

"...a member of the original Napster troupe was in his element as well. Sporting spiky, dyed-blond hair and a pierced tongue, Jordan Ritter was older than Shawn and Parker, at the advanced age of twenty- one. ..."

And?....Where is he now?
